Nosework is an amazing sport where dog and handler work together as a team to locate the sources of specifically designated smells/odors. Once the dog pinpoints the exact location of the odor, the dog will provide an "alert behavior" to their handler who will then relay the location of the odor to the judge.
The odors utilized in UKC Nosework are [odor, odor, odor] and there are varying levels of difficulty across the search types; interiors, exteriors, containers, and vehicles. As teams move through the different levels they earn qualifying legs that accumulate into title accomplishments.
Big, small, purebred, mixed, and even blind! Any dog can compete and succeed in UKC Nosework!
